Rose let her son Oskar play with me
I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for the time you spent with my little boy, Oskar, while you were playing your handpan. You may not have known it at the time, but Oskar is autistic and finds the world around him very overwhelming most days. For the first time in a long time, he seemed completely calm, peaceful, and truly himself. It was the most serene and beautiful moment I’ve ever witnessed in him.
Watching him sit beside you, completely calm and immersed in the music, was something truly special. It was the most peaceful and connected I’ve ever seen him and that’s no small thing. Your kindness, your music, and your willingness to include him in your space gave him a rare and beautiful moment of joy and calm.
I hope you know what a gift that was, not just to Oskar, but to me too. You created a memory we’ll carry with us for a long time.
Your gentle presence and open invitation, without words or pressure, created a space where he felt safe, seen, and connected.
That experience reaffirmed something vital: music can reach him where many others cannot. You gifted him joy, calm, and connection. I couldn’t be more grateful.
